What is the difference between a Salwar Kameez, and a Kurta?

What is the difference between Salwar Kameez, and a Kurta?

salwar kameez vs kurta

The traditional Indian clothing salwar kameez and kurta-pyjama do not bear much of a difference; in fact at the first look of the dresses you can hardly make out any differences, they are just about the same at least in their design/patterns.

The difference is that salwar is a loose-fitting pant worn with a kameez or a long top while kurta is normally worn over a churidaar or pajama. And the pajamas are more of straight-cut pants and the churidaars are nothing but the push-up pants.

Kurta can be teamed up with jeans as well as a churidaar while a salwar-kameez comes in a set along with a scarf or stole that is worn around the neck, and all the three are nicely combined to give a complete dress.

Kurta Pajama- The Most Comfortable, Yet Formal Men’s Wear

Pajama Kurta Men

Kurta Pyjamas have long been a part of India’s diverse cultural ethnicity and in the contemporary fashion scene kurta pajama has evolved into must-have clothing in all men’s wardrobe. And the Indian fashion industry has revived the pajama kurta to its creative best and men/boys have caught up the pace of the constantly changing fashion trends and kurta-pajamas have acquired a special place in the world of fashion.

Well, that can be considered as an answer to one part of the main question while the other fact is that few years back a considerable amount of metro sexual men would not prefer to wear kurta-pajamas although in a few northern states of India pyjama-kurta is the traditional attire and this outfit with changing times broke the creative barriers and made a huge mark in the present day fashion.

Also, at one point there was a wrong notion that kurta-pyjamas belonged to women’s clothing, which of course is not true and boys can carry off this attire gracefully on par with girls. Be it marriage, party, formal occasion, casual wear, festival etc, choose from the variety of collection of kurta-pyjamas exclusively for boys and there is practically a different one for almost every occasion, pick up any and make your own fashion statement.
